Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Branton Portal is operated by Branton Construction Group ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use branton.app, brantonportal.com, and portal.branton.app (the "Service"), why we collect it, and how we protect it.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password. Contractor accounts also include company name, and optionally province or state, business address, business phone, tax number (HST/GST/business number), logo, brand colors, and time zone.
- Project content. Photos, markups, punch and deficiency lists, documents, messages, and other content you add to the Service.
- Activity records. The contractor platform logs what clients view — such as documents, photos, and change orders — and when, so contractors have a clear record of what their clients have seen.
- Payment information. Card details are collected and stored by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as browser type, device, and pages visited, used to keep the Service secure and improve it.
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service, including your account and projects;
- To process payments and manage subscriptions;
- To show contractors their clients' activity records;
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, and support requests;
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse;
- To improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who we share with
- People you choose. Content you share — such as a PDF sent to your contractor, or project documents shared with a client — is visible to those recipients.
- Service providers. Trusted providers who help us run the Service, including our payment provider and our hosting and database providers. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
- Legal requirements. If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
5. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed afterward for legitimate business or legal purposes — for example, billing records and activity logs that contractors rely on for their records. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us. Depending on where you live (including under Canadian privacy law and, where applicable, GDPR), you may have additional rights such as data portability and the right to complain to a regulator.
8. Children
The Service is intended for adults managing construction and renovation projects. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the updated policy here with a new "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
